In light of numerous international crises, the head of the Catholic aid organisation Caritas has called for Austria's foreign disaster aid fund to be increased.
The Roman Catholic charity Caritas is going into the hotel business. The Vienna branch will open a budget hotel in January, close to the Prater, and will provide apprenticeships to around 30 young people with a refugee background, the head of Caritas Vienna Klaus Schwertner said.
