Vienna Pride, Vienna
Vienna Pride runs from late May into mid-June, with the biggest events taking place on June 13th. The Pride Parade, also known as the Rainbow Parade, will march along Vienna’s Ringstrasse for the 30th time.
More than 300,000 people are expected to take part or attend. The parade is a public celebration and a political demonstration for acceptance, respect and equal rights for LGBTIQ people. The Pride Village on Rathausplatz will also host a stage programme, food and drink, and the Pride Celebration from the evening.

Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert Schönbrunn, Vienna
The Vienna Philharmonic’s Summer Night Concert is one of Vienna’s major annual classical music events, and probably one of the most atmospheric free concerts in the country.
The 2026 concert takes place in Schönbrunn Palace Park, with Lorenzo Viotti conducting the Summer Night Concert for the first time. Welsh opera singer Sir Bryn Terfel will perform as soloist, with a programme including opera, operetta, musical, ballet music and symphonic works.

Grafenegg Midsummer Night’s Gala, Lower Austria
Grafenegg’s Sommernachtsgala opens the summer season at the Wolkenturm, one of Lower Austria’s best-known outdoor classical music venues.
The Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria will perform under chief conductor Fabien Gabel, with US soprano Angel Blue, Ukrainian-born tenor Bogdan Volkov and Salzburg cellist Julia Hagen. The programme includes orchestral works, arias, duets and concertante music.

Schluckweise auf Birnenreise, Lower Austria
This Mostviertel culinary tour is one for anyone who wants something smaller and very regional. The event uses a vintage coach to take visitors along the Moststraße, the cider route from which the Mostviertel region gets its name.
The focus is on pear-based specialities, tastings and stories from cider sommelier Mathias Weis. Non-alcoholic cider and juice tasting is available on request, so it isn’t only for drinkers.

Summer concerts at the Musikpavillon, Linz, Upper Austria
Linz’s summer concerts at the Musikpavillon return to Donaupark from mid-June. The free series runs several times a week and brings live music to the riverside park.
The programme focuses especially on up-and-coming artists from Linz and Upper Austria. Fridays and Saturdays are dedicated to a mix of pop, folk, swing and rock, Thursdays to brass band music, and Sundays to jazz.

Austrian Grand Prix, Spielberg, Styria
The Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix takes place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg from June 26th to 28th, bringing one of Austria’s biggest international sporting weekends to Styria.
The 4.326-kilometre track hosts 71 laps of racing, with the event drawing racing fans from Austria and abroad. The Red Bull Ring lists ticket, arrival, parking, camping, shuttle and accessibility information for the 2026 Grand Prix weekend.

Sommerszene Salzburg, Salzburg
Sommerszene is Salzburg’s contemporary arts festival, with dance, performance, theatre and visual arts across several venues in the city.

Open-air cinema, Salzburg
From June 26th, Kapitelplatz in Salzburg’s Old Town becomes an open-air cinema for ten evenings. The screenings are free and take place on a modern digital wall, with food trucks and a drinks stand at the event area.
The evening screenings start at 8pm, while children’s cinema starts at 5pm on selected dates. The 2026 programme includes films such as The Salt Path, The Simple Things, Indian Summer and Four Mothers for Edward.

Bergfeuer Ehrwald, Tyrol
The mountain fires in Ehrwald are one of Tyrol’s most striking summer traditions. Around the summer solstice, thousands of torches and fire points are lit on the mountains of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.
The event takes place in the valley basin of Ehrwald, Lermoos and Biberwier, weather permitting. In 2010, the mountain bonfires of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena were declared intangible UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

Gamers Heaven Tirol is a two-day gaming festival at SportZentrum Telfs, covering video games, board games, cosplay, esports, tabletop, pen-and-paper role-playing games, retro games, art and merch.
The organisers describe it as a festival for all kinds of gamers, including people who are more interested in board games or cosplay than video games. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and visitors need proof of age to enter 18+ areas.

Bregenzer Frühling, Bregenz, Vorarlberg
Bregenzer Frühling, the city’s contemporary dance and performance festival, continues into June with HUMAN - Ich bin Mensch by the aktionstheater ensemble at Theater Kosmos.
The 2026 festival theme is “Keep Dreaming, Baby”, and the June production looks at the fragile, fallible human being in an age of artificial intelligence and digital control fantasies. The performance runs for around 80 minutes.

Midsummer celebration at Hochjoch, Vorarlberg
Vorarlberg also has a midsummer celebration at the Hochjoch Bahn mountain station on June 20th, marking the longest day of the year.
The event runs into the evening, with views stretching from the Rätikon mountain range to the Lechtal Alps as the peaks begin to glow at sunset. It is built around the mountain setting and the summer solstice rather than a packed urban festival programme.

The Days of German-Language Literature take place in Klagenfurt from June 24th to 28th, with the 2026 edition marking both the 50th edition of the literary competition and the centenary year of Ingeborg Bachmann.
The readings, discussions and awards ceremony are broadcast across 3sat, ORF, Deutschlandradio and Ö1, but the event also has a local supporting programme in Klagenfurt. Salon Inge will once again accompany the competition, with public screenings and cultural events across the city.

Nova Rock returns to the Pannonia Fields in Nickelsdorf from June 11th to 14th. It is Austria’s largest open-air rock festival and one of Burgenland’s biggest annual events.
The 2026 line-up includes Volbeat, The Cure, Iron Maiden, The Offspring, A Perfect Circle, Sabaton, Alter Bridge, Sepultura, Tom Morello, Mastodon and many more. Midsummer Night’s Festival at Schloss Tabor, Burgenland
Schloss Tabor in southern Burgenland hosts a Midsummer Night’s Festival on June 20th, built around the summer solstice and a beautiful castle setting.
As the longest day of the year turns into evening, the courtyard becomes the setting for music, food and dancing. The Bad Powells will perform disco, soul and funk hits from the 1970s and early 1980s, with a programme that leans into retro sound and costumes.
