Austria’s national rail operator ÖBB is adding more than 13,500 extra seats around the Ascension Day and Pentecost long weekends, when many people are expected to travel across the country.

The extra capacity will be available around Christi Himmelfahrt, or Ascension Day, from May 13th to 17th, and during the Pentecost weekend from May 22nd to 25th, ÖBB said.

In total, ÖBB is adding 23 extra train services on the western route and running 24 trains with double sets on the Interregio Pyhrn line.

The company said this would provide more than 6,300 additional seats around Ascension Day and more than 7,200 around Pentecost.
