Vienna is hosting the 2026 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest this year. How do you get your hands on a ticket?

After Austrian singer JJ swept to victory at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Basel, Switzerland earlier this year, Vienna won the chance to host the following event.

Even though the event has drawn some controversy recently – with five countries pulling out over Israel's participation – the ESC typically draw tens of thousands of fans and a global audience of more than 150 million.

The 70th edition of the singing competition will see countries send singers to battle it out at the Wiener Stadthalle.

The Grand Final will be held on Saturday May 16th, with Semi-Finals earlier the same week on May 12th and May 14th.

Vienna will be buzzing around this time, with several events taking place. The Eurovision Village Opening Ceremony will kick off events at Vienna's Rathausplatz on May 10th.

How do I attend?

Tickets are being released in stages – however, if you have not registered, you likely won't be able to get a ticket. People interested in going were urged to create a free Eurofan account at eurovision.com by December 18th.

Those who registered, should have received an email with information on how to register with the ticket partner oeticket.com.

More details, including a link to buy tickets and an access code, will be sent in stages in early January, The first batch of tickets will then go on sale at at 1pm Tuesday 13th January.

Organisers said: "Make sure to register for oeticket with the same e-mail address as your Eurofan account or you may not receive your access to the ticket sale."

If you have registered, you'll be able to buy four tickets – but you'll need the names of all the attendees.

So what happens if you missed this deadline to register?

Unfortunately, you can't register at this late stage. Although organisers say more sales are expected in the coming months, the tickets will only be allocated to those who had registered before December 18th.

Your best bet is to find a friend who has registered and see if they can get you a ticket.

... Or apply to volunteer

One way you may be able to attend is by volunteering.

The Austrian broadcaster ORF is recruiting around 800 volunteers to help with everything from guest services and audience support to media assistance and logistics between April 27th and May 17th.

Applications are open until January  28th and can be submitted on the ORF volunteer portal. You’ll need to record short responses to a few questions and upload a CV as part of the online form.

Start your application or find more details at the official volunteer page here: https://songcontest.ORF.at/volunteers. Good German and English skills are desirable.

How much are tickets?

For those buying them, tickets are available for a total of nine shows, including the live TV shows and preview shows. They are expected to start at €15 and rise up to €60-€360 for the Grand Final, depending on where the seats are.
