CHARTS: Which Austrian states have been hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic?

Upper Austria has overtaken Vienna as having the most coronavirus fatalities.
As at December 8th, there are now 3,897 patients who have died from the virus in Austria.
The number crossed 1,000 in late October, but that number has now almost quadrupled just five weeks later.

In total, there has been 308,070 positive test results in Austria.
Over the past 24 hours to December 8th, there were 105 new deaths and 2,377 new positive confirmed cases.
Currently, 3,917 people are in hospital treatment due to the virus and 609 of them are in intensive care units.
Upper Austria overtakes Vienna for most fatalities
Despite having a lower population than both Vienna and Lower Austria, Upper Austria has recorded the most fatalities.
In total, 797 people have died in Upper Austria, compared with 672 in Vienna.
Styria has slightly fewer deaths than Vienna (653), followed by Lower Austria (593), Tirol (375), Carinthia (315), Salzburg (212), Vorarlberg (155) and Burgenland (125).
