- 'I'll get even with my old pal Schwarzenegger' (11 Apr 14)
Austrian Michael Altenhofer, who runs the "Institute For a Strong Mind", said he was inspired to organise the event after realising to his surprise that Schwarzenegger had not ever been invited to give a speech in his hometown.
He said he wanted to have him as a guest speaker on the subject "Six Ways to Be a Success". And after details were published in the media, he said he had been flooded with requests - and had managed to sell enough tickets not just in Austria but also to fans living abroad in the UK.
He did not name those however who had purchased tickets for the private meeting with the action movie star.
It means that the 69-year-old is now set to appear as a public speaker in Schwarzenegger's hometown of Graz in the local Stadthalle - the biggest conference hall in the city in southern Austria’s state of Styria.
The fans signed up after he promised: "Anybody who buys a ticket will not only get to attend the talk, but also get a copy of his biography, and then travel to meet him in a restaurant in the evening."
The cost of each ticket for the event, which has now been confirmed for 29 September was €1,500. Those unable to afford the cover price have also been queuing up for the standard tickets for the event at the Stadthalle, which cost between €20 and €150.
