Shoplifter smuggled stolen goods in swimsuit
A 32-year-old shoplifter wore a woman’s swimming costume under his clothes to smuggle stolen goods out of shops in Burgenland, Austria.
The man, a Romanian citizen, stole food, cosmetics and drinks from three different supermarkets and was able to leave the stores undetected.
It was only when he was stopped by police as part of a routine traffic check that they found the stolen goods in the back of his car.
Police said the pilfered goods were worth €500 and included bottles of shampoo, beetroot and chocolate. The products were returned to the supermarkets and the man is now in police custody.
