Friends of a 24-year-old Chilean student who is thought to have gone missing in Austria a month ago have started a Twitter campaign to track him down - and have gained support from celebrities.

Using the hashtag #letsfindcarlos, his friends and family are hoping to find out what happened to Carlos Gallardo Ramirez, who had come to Europe to study as part of an exchange programme at the Spanish University A Coruna in Galicia.

His mother says that he went missing in mid-August and that his last known location was Vienna.

Even the Spanish actor Antonio Banderras has joined the campaign, with friends of Ramirez also appealing to Austrian Arnold Schwarzenegger to draw attention to the young man’s strange disappearance.
