Police shut down illegal 'WhatsApp rave'

Police shut down an illegal all-night rave that had been organised via the WhatsApp mobile messaging app in Pram, Upper Austria over the weekend.
Around 50 people gathered at a former farmhouse on Sunday night to dance to loud electronic music.
After local residents complained police officers arrived and asked the party goers to turn their music down. However, as soon as the police left the revellers turned the music up again, much to the dismay of locals.
The rave was finally shut down by police at 8am.
Officers found a small amount of cannabis in a car belonging to a 24-year-old party guest. He tested positive for drugs and was found unfit to drive.
Police have temporarily taken away his license and charged him under the narcotics act. The organizers of the party have also been charged with disturbing the peace.
