World record stunt burn succeeds in Passail
Austrian professional movie stunt man Joe Tödtling was literally on fire on Friday in his home town of Passail in Styria when he smashed the world record for the longest distance run while undergoing a full body burn.
While using several layers of Nomex clothing and fire gel weighing a combined 50 kg, Joe -- known locally as Seppe -- enthralled the audience of around 1,500 people as he ran around the town square, followed closely by a safety team of local fire fighters.
Watched by his wife and children and hundreds of supporters, the attempt smashed the previous record of 162m, with Joe reaching a distance of 196.57m.
Joe will be making further record attempts at the nearby Teichalm in June.
