The 24-year-old craftsman - who had had far too much to drink - fell out with his neighbour, a 59-year-old farmer in Moosburg on Wednesday night.
He jumped over a fence and kicked and punched the farmer, threatening to kill him. The farmer’s sons came to his aid and managed to pull the drunken man off their father.
Several Cobra police officers arrived shortly afterwards to question the 24-year-old, who became very aggressive towards them and went inside his house with his pit bull.
When police tried to enter the house he began hurling objects at them from a first floor window - including a barbell and a toilet bowl. Two policemen were injured.
Two officers managed to scale a balcony and enter the house but were then attacked with a baseball bat. They managed to overpower the man and arrest him, also taking his dog into custody.
The man was left to sober up overnight in a prison cell in Ferlach police station and is expected to be questioned on Thursday.
The farmer was not seriously injured and was treated in the outpatient clinic of the local hospital.
