Rose Aifuwa, a permanent resident of Austria originally from Benin, was murdered by her former lover in Nigeria on Christmas day.

Police in Edo State in Nigeria arrested a middle-aged man known as Festus Aimufua, for the alleged murder of Aifuwa in the early hours of December 25th, according to a report in the Information Nigeria web site.

According to the National Mirror, Aifuwa was visiting Nigeria to celebrate Christmas and New Year with her family.  She allegedly got in contact with Aimufua, a spare parts dealer who apparently owed a large sum of money for shipping vehicle parts to Nigeria.

Her former lover then allegedly violently murdered her, then dumped her corpse on Upper Mission Street in Benin City in Nigeria.

Police in Edo State Crime Investigation Department are currently investigating the murder, and are searching for an accomplice as a witness to the murder.
