An apartment building in Vienna's Penzing district with 16 apartments has been evacuated as a precaution on Tuesday evening after cracks in walls in the stairwell and in the living rooms were discovered.
Fire department spokesman Christian Feiler told the Austrian Press Agency (APA) shortly after 8pm the building in Kienmayergasse was in acute danger of collapse.
On Saturday afternoon, a house on the outer Mariahilferstraße partially collapsed and had to be evacuated by the fire department. By Tuesday, some tenants had still not returned to their homes.
