Water break reveals cannabis plantation
Police and firefighters were called out to a routine water leak in a residential building in Schönbrunnerstraße, Vienna, on Sunday night and got more than they bargained for when they discovered a giant cannabis farm.
A tenant had complained about water dripping from his ceiling, and called in emergency services.
Police followed the trail of water to an upstairs apartment, and discovered a professionally-operated cannabis plantation, with around 100 plants under cultivation.
It appeared that the automated irrigation system had malfunctioned, and was causing water to leak through the floor into the apartment below.
The owner of the apartment -- and the plants -- was not located at the scene, so police are continuing their enquiries.
