Enjoy a rustic holiday with a difference in East Tyrol - in a tiny luxury wood cabin called Ufogel. Looking like a cross between a prehistoric bird (vogel is German for bird) and an eccentric spaceship, it overlooks stunning views of the Austrian Alps.

Perched on stilts, a little like Baba Yaga’s hut in the forest, you might feel like you really are staying in the world of fairy tales.

The cabin is made almost entirely out of natural larch wood and covered in traditional overlapping shingles, but complete with modern day comforts.

The 45 square metre space sleeps up to five people - and includes a master bedroom, living space, kitchen, shower and bathroom. It features underfloor heating and a dining area which can seat up to eight people.

Located on a grassy slope in the East Tyrolian village of Nussdorf-Debant, Ufogel costs €120 a night for two with a minimum stay of three nights and an additional €25 per guest. No smoking and no pets allowed.
