A 30-year-old Slovak man was arrested for assault after lashing out at a sauna employee when he was being ejected from the sauna where he had been canoodling with his 26-year-old girlfriend.

On Saturday at a public sauna in the small town of Schaller Bach, near Grieskirchen, employees were alerted by other bathers after the naked couple were spotted in an amorous embrace while inside the sauna, according to a report in the news daily Salzburger Nachrichten.

The sauna's management arrived to put a halt to the erotic escapade, at which point the Slovakian man became aggressive, and threw a punch at one of the employees, injuring him.

The sauna staff then wrestled the man to the ground, and held him until the police arrived, according to a report from the Upper Austrian police.  Even then, the man would not calm down, and was arrested for disorderly behaviour.

Police reported that the man was highly intoxicated.  Both he and his girlfriend have been banned from visiting the sauna, and may face charges relating to the incident.

In related news, a recent study confirms that nearly two thirds of hotel spa pools in Austria and Germany are unhygienic.
