The alarm was raised on Monday after the 54-year-old man and his 52-year-old wife failed to turn up for work, and one of the woman’s colleagues called the police.

Police went to the couple’s home and found two bodies in the living room. They believe the man killed his wife and then himself. There was no evidence of a break-in or a violent confrontation, however police are not ruling out that a third person could be involved.

Police said they had found a murder weapon. They believe the couple died on Friday night.

A toxicology report, which should determine if the couple had consumed alcohol or drugs, is still being evaluated. It’s unclear if there was a motive.
