Two-headed tortoise born in Styria
An endangered Moorish tortoise was born with two heads in Styria on Thursday.
Such a birth anomaly is not uncommon, although they generally don't have a great life expectancy.
The owner, a hobbyist breeder of endangered tortoises for the past seven years, told the Austrian Press Association (APA) that the baby tortoise was bringing its owner much joy. "I'm intrigued," he said.
He currently owns 70 tortoises. A friend also hatched a turtle with two heads, but it only survived a few weeks.
