Four people smugglers from Syria arrested

Four alleged people smugglers from Syria were arrested in Leopoldsdorf, Lower Austria on Monday night.
According to police they had 53 Syrians - 47 men and six women - hidden in the cargo compartment of a truck with Bulgarian license plates.
They had entered Austria through Hungary, and were arrested by a team from the Special Investigation branch SOKO.
The 53 Syrians have now applied for asylum seeker status and are said to be in good health.
