People who aren’t from Austria often confuse the small Alpine country with Australia - something which Austrian star Arnold Schwarzenegger has used to his advantage whilst making an advert for an Australian real estate company.

Starring in the latest campaign for realestate.com.au, called Australia Lives Here, the 67-year-old Hollywood actor uses his Austrian accent and quirky humour to make the sell.

The former governor of California seems a little confused himself - when he announces his plans to move back to his country of birth. “Dylan, I’ve decided it’s time for me to move back to Austria,” the actor tells his assistant Dylan in one of the ads.

“I’ve been looking at realestate.com.au and Austria has some great places,” he continues, mistaking Australia for his home country.

“Realestate.com.au is Australia sir,” Dylan politely interrupts, but Arnie is undeterred - telling his assistant that he pronounces words in a funny way, which is why he likes him.

He goes on to say that Sydney and Wagga Wagga have particularly impressed him.

“But no Vienna, right?” Dylan enquires, hoping his employer will get the hint.

“I know, so much has changed,” Arnold replies.

Schwarzenegger is currently filming Terminator: Genesis, the fifth instalment in the Terminator series.
