While Austria is widely considered to be an excellent place to live, it is not a large, or particularly well-known country for those living outside Europe.
As such, either out of curiosity or prior to a visit to Austria, many rely on Google to provide them with quick answers about the small, landlocked republic in Central Europe.

The search engine essentially allows the curious, with time on their hands, to do almost no work while still learning something.

Not only does Google find you answers, but it will often provide the questions as well. Simply type in “Is Austria” or “Why are Austrians” and Google will provide questions that begin with these phrases.

The Local experimented with this feature and found some fascinating questions. Topics ranged from language, to the size of Austria, and even whether or not it exists. Some were valid questions, while others were unusual, ironic, or simply ridiculous.

We’ve collected our nine favourite predictive searches about Austria.
