The singer with the distinctive raspy voice told the Heute paper that his fans can look forward to “a colourful and very sexy show, with lots of hits”.
He said that he’s currently writing new songs for his next album, which he hopes to release in April or May next year.
A committed football fan, he told Heute that he’s supporting Argentina in the World Cup. Until recently the 69-year-old played football with a team in LA (where he lives) in a senior league, but has had to stop because of knee problems.
He said that for him, performing a live show “is a job - but not a typical job. I still get very excited being on stage, but I don’t get nervous anymore.”
Stewart won’t have any free time in Vienna - as soon as his show is over he’s travelling on to the South of France to join his family for a two-week holiday. Then it’s on to America for the next leg of his tour.
Stewart said that he liked to listen to the radio whenever he can, and when he gets time alone he will work on song lyrics, or watch Wimbledon or football.
