Telekom Austria buys Macedonian cable firm
Telekom Austria (TA) has bought the cable provider Blizoo in Macedonia, which offers broadband internet, television and a fixed phone network.
Telekom was already present in Macedonia via its mobile subsidiary VIP operator. This meant that Macedonia was the fourth country where TA offered all services, after Austria, Bulgaria and Croatia.
TA head Hannes Ametsreiter, who was speaking in Vienna on Monday afternoon, said that the price for Blizoo was a "double-digit million sum".
Blizoo Macedonia currently has 63,000 customers, of whom 47,000 are broadband customers. Its turnover in 2013 was €10 million.
