Rainbow parade in Vienna on Saturday
On Saturday Vienna will see the 19th annual Rainbow Parade, a celebration of gay and lesbian rights organised by the Homosexual Initiative (HOSI) of Vienna.
The parade will block traffic on the inner ring as it departs from in front of the Town Hall at 2 p.m., traveling via Parliament, the Opera House, Stadtpark, Urania and to the University.
"We are again expecting tens of thousands who will participate in the parade, and many spectators lining the route, a total of more than 100,000 people. They will with this peaceful and colorful demonstration show a strong sign of tolerance, acceptance and equality of lesbian, gay and transgender people," said HOSI-Vienna chairwoman Cécile Balbous.
