With a distance of 42.195 km, runners from around the world will face the challenge of mental and physical endurance.

Official participants are limited to 9,000 athletes, although there are plenty of other opportunities for runners, including a half marathon and a business run.

Update

The race was won by Sisay Lemma of Ethiopia in 2:07:31.  Lemma ran alone for the last 15 km of the distance.

The Ethiopian had previously won marathons in Carpi in 2012 and Warsaw in 2013.

Race favorite Getu Feleke left the race after 50 minutes with an injury.
