Firemen rescue toddler from post box
A three-year-old boy who was playing hide and seek chose a hiding place that was so good he couldn’t escape from it on Monday evening - after climbing inside a large postal box and getting stuck.
The boy and his parents were visiting a residential complex in Brunn am Gebirge (Lower Austria) on Monday evening when he saw the post box and climbed inside it - however when he closed the door behind him it locked, trapping him inside.
The boy’s parents and residents tried to free him but were unsuccessful and had to call the fire brigade, who arrived at around 7pm.
With the help of a hydraulic spreader and a crowbar they were able to open the post box and free the toddler.
The fire department said he had been “amazingly brave” and greeted them with a broad smile when they opened up the box.
