Bomb threat targets Shiite mosque in Vienna
On Monday evening, a bomb threat was called in from a public pay phone targeting a Shiite mosque in Mollardgasse in Vienna's 6th district.
The Islamic Centre of the Imam Ali mosque was evacuated and police conducted a search, but nothing was found. The call was traced to a pay phone, according to a police report that was shared with the Austrian Press Agency (APA). Shiites in Austria are currently celebrating the Ashura festival, which is currently reaching its peak. Sharing the location of the mosque is a private school associated with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
