"We are proud to bring the future of television to Austria," says Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a company press release.

The most attractive deal is a €7.99  per month subscription for streaming movies and series.

The offer includes Netflix originals such as Orange Is The New Black, a series based on the film Fargo, From Dusk Till Dawn, animated comedy Bojack Horseman and the psychological thriller Penny Dreadful.

The selection will continue to increase significantly, including more Netflix series like Marco Polo, Marvel's Daredevil and Sense8.

Netflix will also hold transmission rights for the first two seasons of the acclaimed series House of Cards, however, pay-TV broadcaster Sky is expected to run the third season early next year.

A basic subscription price is €7.99 for standard quality access to Netflix on one device.

For €8.99, two parallel streams are available on HD and for €11.99, Netflix can be streamed simultaneously on four screens, even in Ultra HD.

On the basis of algorithms and taking personal user preferences into account, recommendations will be compiled for each user.

The service was launched by Hastings on Wednesday in Vienna.

Hastings also stated that he aims to capture 30 percent of the home market in Austria.
