Undercover police bust dealers in Leopoldstadt
An undercover police officer made a bust in early August when two alleged drug dealers offered to sell him a kilogram of cannabis. The pair wanted €4,000 to complete the transaction.
The two men, a 29-year-old Algerian and a 23-year-old Serbian were looking to make a drug deal when they were approached by the undercover police officer. They led the officer to their bunker apartment in Engerthstraße in Vienna's second district.
Police were also able to arrest additional suspects, including a 20-year-old Spaniard and a 22-year-old Bosnian. Two young women from Montenegro, aged 18 and 22, were also arrested and released without charge.
In executing a search warrant, investigators found 32 kilograms of marijuana and €15,000 in cash. A total of four people were arrested and are now in custody while further evidence is gathered.
