Minister of Infrastructure Doris Bures (Social Democrats/SPÖ) is due to follow deceased Barbara Prammer as First Speaker of the National Council, the first chamber of parliament. This was reported by the news daily "Kronen Zeitung" on Saturday.

Minister of Health Alois Stoeger (SPÖ) is to follow Bures as minister of infrastructure and Sabine Oberhauser, Vice President of the Trade Union Federation (OeGB), is to become Stoeger's successor as minister of health. However, there was no one within the SPÖ who wanted to confirm this information to the APA on the weekend.

According to the "Krone" there was some skepticism within the SPÖ with this decision, especially Stoeger's nomination as minister of infrastructure was disliked by many party members.

Political scientist Peter Filzmaier said in the ORF news programme "Zeit im Bild" on Saturday that this decision would help Chancellor Werner Faymann to satisfy very important parts of the party.

With Bures who is from Vienna and Stoeger who is from Upper Austria he would keep the regional organisations in these two for the SPÖ important provinces on his side. Moreover he would also gain the support of the trade union which would again get a minister with Oberhauser after some time.
