Nude cyclist stopped by police
A blonde woman who has been spotted shopping naked in Pernitz (Lower Austria) has been causing consternation amongst the locals.
For the past few weeks the woman from Baden, has been spotted going to the petrol station and popping into the tobacconist's shop wearing nothing but a broad smile and a pair of bright white trainers.
Police have been trying to track her down, but as soon as they set off in pursuit of her, she disappeared from the scene.
However Pernitz police chief Harald Windbichler finally got a chance to speak with the woman when he stopped on the L138 road to carry out a routine speed check and noticed her cycling naked along the cycle path.
"She was quite harmless and amusing," Windbichler told the Heute newspaper. "I let her off with a warning."
She has been told that if she doesn’t wear clothes next time she’s out and about she will face a €1,000 fine.
The woman, who works in Vienna, said that she just feels more comfortable without clothes on. She has been identified as a 53-year-old engineer.
