Kurz accuses Erdogan of 'lack of respect'
Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz says that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was disrespectful of Austria by campaigning for the Turkish elections during his visit to Vienna.
Kurz, who was speaking at the same time as Erdogan's speech on Thursday, said that the pictures alone showed that the prime minister brought the election "into our country, and caused unrest."
The foreign minister said he rejected this. "I can only say that respect for the host country looks very different."
It was still not clear on Friday morning whether Kurz would be meeting the Turkish prime minister in the course of the day. Kurz said that if they did speak, he would tell him the same thing he told the press.
Integration was a difficult process, and did not need speeches that "throw us back and make the integration process more complicated than it already is" said Kurz.
